Yesterday, Wednesday, May 7, 2023, I had my weekly session walking with Wandercraft’s Atalante X exoskeleton, and this one felt like a real breakthrough.
The day didn’t exactly start out stress-free. After a long drive packed with traffic, I arrived just minutes before my session was supposed to begin. Honestly, I worried that rushing in like that might throw me off, but it was one of my best sessions so far.
I started at 50% assistance—just one lap at that level to get going. To my surprise, it felt almost effortless, much easier than I expected. If you’ve followed my progress, you’ll know that I was starting at 80% or even 90% assistance just a few weeks ago. Feeling that 50% now almost matches those old, higher settings is a huge milestone for me.
With that burst of confidence, I quickly dialed the assistance down: from 50% straight to 40%, then 35%, eventually all the way down to 20%. I didn’t need to stop for a break and skipped the usual quick intervals at higher assistance levels. The whole time, I was able to keep moving and push myself a little further.
One of the most incredible moments came when I did 10 squats in front of the mirror. There’s something really powerful about seeing myself standing tall and moving with intention. Watching my reflection in real time helped me adjust my posture and made the progress feel tangible—it’s a reminder of how far I’ve come and how much is possible.
Throughout the session, I played with different levels of assistance, but not once did I need to go above 50%. That’s a win I’m proud of. These sessions are about more than just numbers or percentages—they’re about reclaiming movement, building confidence, and celebrating every step (and squat) along the way.
If you’re on a similar journey, keep going. These small wins add up.
Feeling grateful, motivated, and ready for what’s next!
