Hi, I’m Esther Klang. At 30, I’m a passionate advocate for disability and accessibility rights, an accessibility tester, and someone who believes deeply in technology’s power to transform lives. My journey began in 2006 when brain stem tumor removal surgery left me quadriplegic, requiring a tracheostomy and ventilator support. But this challenge ignited my purpose: to fight for meaningful changes that improve the lives of people with disabilities. For the past 19 years, I’ve immersed myself in the world of digital accessibility, assistive technology, and alternative and augmentative communication. I’ve learned new skills and languages, but more importantly, I’ve discovered how to help others navigate the complex landscape of assistive technology. I know firsthand how isolating it feels when you can’t independently access the devices most people take for granted.
Your phone, tablet, and computer – these aren’t just gadgets. They’re lifelines to independence, employment, safety, and connection. That’s why I dedicate myself to sharing information, articles, and resources that can help educate our community about various disabilities and their unique challenges. I regularly review and highlight products, technologies, and organizations that can make daily life easier and more independent for people with disabilities. My work goes beyond technical solutions. I’m committed to changing perspectives and fighting discrimination through advocacy and education. People with disabilities aren’t defined by their conditions – we’re individuals with rich emotional lives, unique viewpoints, and valuable contributions to make. Through my platform, I create open dialogues about accessibility, share personal experiences, and connect people with life-changing resources. Whether troubleshooting accessibility challenges, reviewing new assistive technologies, or advocating for policy changes, my goal remains constant: ensuring everyone has the tools and support they need to live independently and fully participate in our increasingly digital society. I regularly update my resource library with new articles, product reviews, and educational materials to keep our community informed and empowered. My approach combines personal experience with professional expertise, allowing me to bridge the gap between technical solutions and real-world needs. I’ve worked with countless individuals, organizations, and tech companies to develop more inclusive digital experiences. Every success story, every barrier overcome, reinforces my belief in the power of accessible technology to change lives.
Through my monthly newsletter and active social media presence, I stay connected with our growing community, sharing the latest developments in assistive technology and accessibility standards. My dedication to this cause grows stronger with each passing day. I’m always seeking new ways to collaborate and amplify the voices of people with disabilities—whether that’s providing tailored accessibility consulting, delivering workshops, or partnering with organizations that share my vision for a barrier-free world. Want to learn more about accessibility, discover helpful resources, or share your story? I’d love to hear from you. Book a meeting with me. Together, we can make technology work for everyone while advocating for the changes that matter most to our community.
