For most people, standing up and walking across a room are such basic actions that they barely register in their daily lives. But for me, these simple movements represent something extraordinary – a precious gift that I receive every Wednesday morning. As a quadriplegic, my world changed dramatically when independent movement became a luxury rather than a given. But for one remarkable hour each week, I reclaim a sense of freedom that’s both profound and exhilarating. It’s like being released from invisible bonds, allowing me to experience the pure joy of movement that so many take for granted. These Wednesday sessions have become the highlight of my week. The ability to stand and walk independently, even briefly, reminds me of life’s simple pleasures and fills me with gratitude. The experience is nothing short of transformative – it’s my weekly taste of independence, my moment to feel wholly myself again. To the incredible team who makes this possible: Thank you for giving me these precious moments of freedom. You’ve given me more than just physical therapy; you’ve given me something to look forward to, something to celebrate, and most importantly, a renewed sense of possibility.
